BS-14001 Hydrophilic Coating
hydrophilic coating contains a series of patented products with hydrophilic polymer as the main component developed independently by Biosurf company. By utilizing UV-cured technology, a firm and uniform micron-level coating can be formed on the surface of various Catheter/guide wires. Medical devices coated with SurfLurbri® coating displayed highly hydrophilic lubricity, long-lasting adhesion and excellent biocompatibility, which can improve the pushability of implant/interventional catheters or guidewires in the body, and help minimize patient trauma caused by friction with human tissues.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
◆ Excellent lubricity, long-lasting durability, good uniformity and water retention
◆ Extensive substrate universality, including material with low free surface energy such as silicone and fluorinated materials
◆ Excellent biocompatibility: meet the test requirements for Class III medical devices
◆ Resistant to irradiation sterilization and long-term immersion
◆ Substrate-friendly coating solution and coating process
APPLICATIONS
◆ hydrophilic coatings have been applied to various catheters, wires, and other delivery system products in the fields of vascular intervention, drainage, respiratory anesthesia, urology, reproduction, digestion, etc.
Super-lubricity suitable for various substrate materials
coatings are tailored to suit various substrate materials, e.g. Nylon, TPU, Pebax, FEP, etc., and able to reduce the friction coefficient of medical devices below 0.03, extremely lower than the uncoated devices.
Outstanding firmness and durability
coatings form UV-stimulated covalent bond to the substrate materials of medical devices. After 30 cycles of friction testing, the coated device has no declination in the friction coefficient, demonstrating that the coating is of outstanding adhesion and wear resistance while minimizing particulate formation.
Superior integrity, uniformity and elasticity
coatings are of superior integrity and uniformity validated by the results of no obvious fluctuation of friction coefficient curve. Microscopic observation of dyed coating surface also proves the good elasticity of coatings without any peeling or cracking in case of balloon dilation.
