DED-31007 Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Board
DED-31007Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Board
Product Description Extruded polystyrene foam is classified into two types: expanded EPS and continuously extruded XPS. Compared to EPS boards, XPS boards are the third generation of rigid foam insulation materials. They overcome the complex production process of EPS boards, offering superior performance that cannot be replaced by EPS. XPS is made from polystyrene resin and other additives, forming a continuous surface with a honeycomb structure. These thick honeycomb boards have no voids. This closed-cell structure insulation material can have different pressures (150-500Kpa) with the same low thermal conductivity (only 0.028W/MK) and excellent long-term insulation and compressive strength. The compressive strength can reach 220-500Kpa.

Performance Features
Excellent Insulation Performance: XPS boards have high thermal resistance, low linear expansion, and low expansion rate. With a closed-cell rate exceeding 99%, they form a vacuum layer that prevents air flow and heat dissipation, ensuring long-lasting and stable insulation performance. Compared to foam polyurethane with an 80% closed-cell rate, the advantages are clear. Practical evidence shows that a 20mm thick XPS extruded insulation board has an insulation effect equivalent to a 50mm thick expanded polystyrene board and a 120mm thick cement perlite board, making it the best choice for building insulation.
Superior High Compressive Strength: Due to its special structure, XPS boards have extremely high compressive strength and impact resistance. Depending on the type and thickness of XPS, the compressive strength can reach 150-500Kpa, capable of bearing ground loads in various systems. They are widely used in geothermal engineering, highways, airport runways, plaza grounds, large cold storage facilities, and interior decoration and insulation.
Excellent Waterproof and Moisture-Proof Properties: Water absorption is a crucial parameter for measuring insulation materials. When insulation materials absorb water, their insulation performance declines. In low temperatures, absorbed water can freeze, damaging the insulation material's structure and reducing the board's compressive and insulation properties. Due to the molecular structure of polystyrene, which does not absorb water, XPS boards maintain stable molecular structure without gaps, solving issues of leakage, penetration, frosting, and condensation found in other materials.
Lightweight and Easy to Use: The fully closed-cell foamed chemical structure and honeycomb-like physical structure of XPS boards make them lightweight, strong, easy to cut and transport, and not easily broken, facilitating installation.
Good Stability and Corrosion Resistance: XPS boards do not age, decompose, or produce harmful substances. Their chemical properties are extremely stable, ensuring excellent performance in high-temperature environments without degradation from water absorption or corrosion. According to relevant information, XPS extruded insulation boards can maintain excellent performance for 30 to 40 years without decomposition, mold growth, or toxic substance release.
Environmental Performance: Tested by national authorities, XPS boards have stable chemical properties, do not emit harmful substances, and are harmless to humans and production materials. They are made from environmentally friendly materials without any industrial pollution, making the product an eco-friendly building material.
