Diagnostic Significance: Candida is one of the normal flora in the vagina. Under various pathogenic factors, Candida can proliferate and lead to vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). VVC is the second most common type of vaginal infection after bacterial vaginosis, with 75% of women of childbearing age experiencing at least one episode in their lifetime. There are many types of Candida, with Candida albicans being the primary cause of vaginal infections, accounting for 80% to 90% of cases. Candida albicans, also known as white pseudohyphae yeast, is a permanent parasitic fungus in humans and animals and a conditional pathogen. It has a complete nucleus and cell wall. Many hospitals in China now routinely include it in gynecological inflammation testing.
