CoCrMo alloy (Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum) is a non-magnetic cobalt-based alloy known for its high strength, corrosion resistance, and exceptional wear resistance. This alloy is used in applications where high rigidity, highly polished surfaces, and extreme wear resistance are required. It has been widely used in orthopedic and dental implants for decades. Highly polished forged CoCrMo alloy is used to produce components such as femoral stems for hip, knee, and condyle replacements, which bear heavy loads. Other cobalt-based alloy medical implants include acetabular cups and tibial trays, particularly in hip joint assemblies. Given the large loads and fatigue susceptibility, the quality of the material is critical. The CoCrMo alloy can be customized to meet specific oxygen and nitrogen content requirements based on customer specifications.
